Major features at a glance
DynamicSync has two main features:
Dynamic filters for dynamic AAD groups
As a convenient feature, dynamic filters provide an attribute-based assignment of group members.
When dynamic filtering is enabled, Azure AD attributes can be selected from a drop-down list and have values assigned to them (‘department’ equal to ‘administration’).
These filter settings ensure that members are assigned to the appropriate dynamic AAD group.
Group synchronization in Azure AD
The second important feature is the synchronization of M365 groups and AAD security groups in the cloud. This allows all groups in Azure (including groups synced from AD) to be synced to other groups.
Other useful features include creating teams in Microsoft Teams based on synchronized AD groups. Synchronization between groups runs automatically at regular intervals. In this way, all groups and members are always up to date.
