Release of DynamicGroup 5 – Faster processing of large AD groups

In the major release DynamicGroup 5, the performance has been significantly increased for a more stable, resource-saving and faster processing of large AD groups. In addition, practical features have been added, such as a search function and advanced filter options.

What’s new in DynamicGroup 5
DynamicGroup 5 is available for download in March 2023. Included in the new version are:

A look at the main advantages
Faster processing of large AD groups
Through extensive optimizations, DynamicGroup processes AD groups even faster than before. Our tests show that in version 5 the actual speed increased by over 45% compared to the previous version 2020. Our test base was a total of 300,000 group memberships in over one hundred groups.
In parallel, we did some extensive comparisons between DynamicGroup 5 and PowerShell.
These revealed significant time savings when using DynamicGroup. Our software application works on average 25x faster than PowerShell and completes a large part of the tasks in a few seconds.
It also ensures that our customers don’t have to worry about writing complicated PS scripts and that this knowledge is not lost when there is a change in department.
Increased user friendliness
DynamicGroup 5 offers a new search field to quickly find AD groups. With the new search function, dynamic groups within a selected OU or a Saved Query are immediately filtered and displayed. All you need to do is enter a word fragment to get the right search results.
Saved queries can also be renamed and saved easily in the new update.
As new features the filter options have been extended. DynamicGroup 5 now offers a “never” filter that combines the possible values for “never” in AD (both “0” and “9223372036854775807”). This ensures that all users are displayed correctly.
