RealGroup 2.0 – Efficient authorization management
Our new my-IAM RealGroup service is now available. The latest version, RealGroup 2.0, enables synchronization of groups and their memberships across different systems.
Fast cross-system access rights
RealGroup 2.0 allows for seamless synchronization of group memberships across various systems, making permission management more efficient. By automating group memberships, such as transferring members from source systems to target systems, RealGroup minimizes manual effort and reduces errors.
Advantage: Everyone continues working in their system. The data is mapped and distributed by my-IAM RealGroup.
Use case: Automatic synchronization of Entra organizational groups with Microsoft Teams
The IT department is planning a new project and needs a structured collaboration within Microsoft Teams.
To ensure that only authorized team members have access to sensitive information, various roles are defined:
- Project Manager: Full rights to add or remove team members.
- Developer: Access to specific project files, but no permissions to manage the team.
- Tester: Access to test documents and feedback tools, but no editing rights to the main documents.
- Stakeholder: View-only access to progress, but no editing rights.
RealGroup automatically synchronizes memberships from Entra organizational groups with Microsoft Teams groups to ensure that the right people are in the appropriate roles. When changes occur within the organization, memberships are updated in real time, reducing security risks and administrative effort.
Extended possibilities with third-party systems
Centralized management of AD and Entra ID groups with IDM-Portal
In combination with an IAM solution like the FirstWare IDM-Portal, you can display all Entra and M365 groups, manage members, and create new cloud groups – all through an intuitive user interface. The IDM-Portal is specifically designed for identity and access management in the cloud and Active Directory, offering a comprehensive and efficient solution for permission management.
Using M365 groups as distribution lists with my-IAM PeopleConnect
The integration of RealGroup 2.0 into a global address book like my-IAM PeopleConnect allows for the use of groups as distribution lists.
