DynamicGroup 2020.1 – Group Managed Service Accounts available
FirstAttribute has released a new version of DynamicGroup. DynamicGroup 2020.1 improves automatic group membership in Active Directory. You can now use Group Managed Service Accounts (gMSA). In addition to gMSA, the DG Service 2020.1 has been further stabilized.
Service update
For version 2020.1, the DynamicGroup console and service have been further revised. With this we ensure a higher reliability.
The new version gives more security e.g. for automatic department groups. The update informs that the service components are also getting updated and asks for confirmation during the installation.
Group Manager Accounts
You can now use Group Managed Service Account (gMSA) to install the service.
Further changes
Log evaluation
Using PowerShell scripts, you can evaluate the log to track group changes. It is also possible to restore old settings. The procedure can be found in the documentation provided when you download DynamicGroup 2020.1.
Other
Minor bugfixes were fixed. Installer and install wizards (GUI) received adjustments.

DynamicGroup is a software for automating Active Directory group memberships. It was first released in 2012 and has been updated and improved over the years. DynamicGroup allows IT administrators to create self-managed groups. These groups are based on rules and can be created using the search query. Previously, IT administrators could use the software for their work. With the latest version, they can delegate the management of AD groups to local OU administrators.
