New version IDM-Portal 5.0 – Customized identity and access management
Our IAM solution FirstWare IDM-Portal 5.0 has been completely revised in the new version and offers new configuration options that make it a customized IAM solution for companies. Other new features include the simplified management of different domains, improved MS Cloud integration and Exchange Online management.

User-friendly design and expandable menus
The new design of the GUI and flexibly expandable menus significantly improve user-friendliness. The side menu shows categories such as users, groups and devices, whereby any number of menu items can be created and integrated.
High configurability offers a tailor-made solution
The IDM-Portal configurator now offers application-specific pages for different user groups, such as internal and external users, as well as for devices.
In practice, the identity data of internal and external users often differs. Internal users have a personnel number, for example, while a customer number or external e-mail address is used for external users.
The attributes of desktop computers also differ from those of laptops or mobile devices. It therefore makes sense to use different interfaces for administration.
Each page in the IDM-Portal 5.0 can be managed with separate attributes, label and role configurations.
Integration of multiple domains
With the IDM-Portal 5.0, companies can now easily manage subsidiaries with different domains on one platform. The activated “Domain ID” function enables the portal to automatically recognize the correct domain for the respective data, which simplifies the management of multiple companies.
Particularly in the public sector, it is often the case that several domains exist in parallel due to mergers. Instead of costly migrations, many administrations are looking for an alternative solution for the efficient management of multiple AD domains. Improved Exchange Online administration
Version 5.0 also makes it easier to manage Exchange Online permissions. The “ListPickUp-Control” simplifies the management of mailbox permissions so that users and groups can be easily added or removed.
Other new features
- Simplified manager search: User profiles offer a simplified search for managers with configurable search and column views.
- Additional mail addresses: The “ProxyAddress-Control” enables the management of secondary mail addresses such as SIP addresses.
- Extended role functionalities: The “RoleExtensionProvider” enables special role extensions that are not overwritten during configuration imports.
Further optimizations
The core components of the IDM-Portal have been updated to the latest framework version 4.8, including modules for configuration, automation and workflow control. Performance improvements, bug fixes and updates ensure a secure application.
